The practice of Internal Medicine includes the knowledge and performance of procedures in the diagnosis and management of medical conditions. The goal of this requirement is to ensure residents acquire procedural knowledge, have opportunities to perform and develop competency in these procedures, and prepare residents for future career paths. This requirement is necessary for ABIM certification.
Each categorical resident must successfully complete Requirement A and Requirement B in order to graduate from the training program.
