Teaching Points
- Initial treatment for seizure: IV lorazepam 0.1mg/kg –> IV fosphenytoin –> sedation/intubation
- Neurocysticercosis is caused by Taenia Solium
- Spreads hematogenously to the brain, liver, muscle
- Diagnosis: presentation+imaging. serum testing not reliable
- Treatment: dexamethasone, albendazole, anti-epileptic
