UpToDate is currently available to all faculty, housestaff and students at UCLA and DHS.  It can be accessed on the DHS Campus, DHS Remote VDI Desktop, UCLA campus, and through UCLA VPN, or by creating a personal log-in associated with UCLA.

Accessing UpToDate

For personal log-in to UpToDate with DHS, follow these instructions:

1. On-campus or through VDI, go to the Olive View intranet home page at https://lacounty.sharepoint.com/sites/dhs-ov.
2. Click the UpToDate app icon.
3. From the UpToDate website (it should read “LA County Department of Health” in the top-right of the page), click Register.
4. Complete the Registration.
5. Use your personal log-in and password when accessing UpToDate.

For personal log-in to UpToDate with UCLA through your computer or smartphone, follow these instructions:

1. Register for Bruin OnLine (BOL) access.
   1. Go to UCLA BOL at accounts.iam.ucla.edu.
   2. Click on the “Create a UCLA logon ID” button.
   3. Agree to the Terms of Service policy.
   4. Click on the “I have a UCLA ID Number (UID)” button.
   5. Fill out the form: First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, UCLA ID number (see 9-digit number on the front of the UCLA ID badge).
2. Download and install the Cisco client for VPN access on your computer or phone.
   1. Go to www.bol.ucla.edu/bol.
   2. Download the SSL VPN client for Windows, Mac, iOS, or Android.
   3. Install the SSL VPN client/settings.
   4. Log in to VPN using your BOL account
3. Log in to the UCLA VPN.
4. Go to the UpToDate website.  The website should recognize that you are affiliated with UCLA.
5. Click Register and create your login.
   Once completed, you may now login from anywhere with or without UCLA VPN.  Periodically, you will need to log into UpToDate through the UCLA VPN to maintain your personal access.
